Our theme for this week’s IELTS exercises will be history.
As some of you may know I am currently studying for a Masters in History, so this topic is a favourite of mine. More importantly, history is also one of the topics that appears quite regularly in IELTS exams.
As usual, I will post an exercise for each of the four IELTS skills. As a new initiative, I am also going to post a list of vocabulary that you may find useful in the exercises. You should look to incorporate these new words into your responses.
On Monday I will post the vocabulary list.
Tuesday’s reading exercise will be an extract from an essay on history. You will be asked to complete sentences with the correct endings.
Wednesday’s writing exercise will be based on the IELTS Writing Task 1 format. You will be given a pie chart and asked to write a description
Thursday’s listening exercise will be a recording of me reading another section from the same essay used for the reading exercise. You will be asked to choose correct answers from three alternatives.
Friday’s speaking exercise will require you to speak for two minutes on a topic related to history.
